Burning Man has a strange relationship with gearheads. The guys who build artcars obviously pour a ton of time and effort into them, but then they take them out into the desert to be partied in by random strangers.
That having been said, that car is rather fascinating. I'd love to know what it started out life as, and how it drives.

I didn't realize how big that thing was and was assuming it was a VW bug, or possibly had a Jeep frame underneath. A GIS turned up some images like this which resulted in a more in depth search. Turns out it is obviously a custom made VW Bug body that is on a 1959 Walter Class 1500 Crash Truck frame. I can't find any more information than that, and can't find any information on the Walter Crash Truck.

I knew it was big just based on how many lug bolts it had, but that's a lot larger than I imagined. Now I really wanna know how it drives.
